October 7 -8--- Open Studio Tour;  Waynesville 828-452-0593                                   Enter the studio of local artists and watch them create their art.

October 6-10--- 97th Annual Cherokee Indian Fair;  Cherokee Indian Fairgrounds 828-497-8128;  Opening day parade, midway, fireworks, traditional Cherokee food and competitions for basket makers, carvers, quilters and more.  Entertainment in the amphitheater. 

October 10-- Church Street Arts & Crafts Show; Waynesville; 828-456-3517           Main Street is transformed into an art and craft marketplace for this one-day event; widely know as one of the finest in the region. Live mountain music and clogging, entertainment and food. 10am - 5pm.

October 15-17-- AHTA Big Rig Show;  Cherokee Indian Fairgrounds; 828-586-2709 An interactive display in a fun, family environment. More than 100 trucks will be on display from the antique and working class.

October 17—The 21st Annual Apple Harvest Festival; Waynesville; 828-456-3021 Enjoy arts and crafts, live entertainment, local merchants, great food and apples, downtown Waynesville, 10am-5pm, free
