 MAGGIE VALLEY AREA LODGING ASSOCIATION

Welcome

MAGGIE VALLEY

Gateway to the Smokies

For that year-round vacation getaway, we have a place tailor made just for you!  Our lodging members offer you accommodations of all types, from  motel rooms to cabins with indoor hot tubs, from          B& B's to  vacation rentals that can sleep up to 20.    We provide the information, you make the choice

So you're looking for that perfect mountains  vacation.  Now that you found Maggie Valley, let us tell you why we should be your vacation headquarters during your visit to the Great Smoky Mountains, the Blue Ridge Parkway,  and the whole variety of attractions available to you throughout Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee.

Maggie Valley stands head and shoulders above all the places that  boast a Smoky Mountains location.  We are the only place actually surrounded by mountain ranges in all directions.  Our higher elevations mean cooler temperatures, more spectacular  views, and cleaner air.  Plus, we're in the center of any activity you care to enjoy, whether you're a participant or viewing from the sidelines.

We offer you year round fun and excitement within a few minutes of any lodging in the Maggie Valley area.  During the summer and fall seasons you can enjoy "Ghost Town in the Sky" Western Theme Park, numerous festivals, bluegrass music, cocenrts with name entertainement, dance to country bands, watch cloggers,  go to a dinner theater, and much, much, more.   Plus, unlike Gatlinburg,  our parking is free!

For motorcycle enthusiasts, this area is one of the very best for riding.  Deals' Gap, also known as the "Tail of the Dragon' for it's 318 curves in 11 miles is near here, as are the blue Ridge Parkway and the Great smoky Mountains National Park. Of course there are many more curvy roads throughtout the mountains.

In the winter, of course there is skiing.  Although some of the summer places close for a well needed rest, many stay open for shopping, good eating of all types, and for an evening's entertainment

There is more to do within a short drive of Maggie Valley than you'll find time for.  Close by is the Biltmore House, white water rafting, hiking, mountain horse back riding and mountain biking.  The Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway offer miles and miles of scenic drives, magnificent overlooks and hiking trails.  The Cherokee Indian Reservation, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are also a short distance away, and make great day trips for those who like excitement during the day, but prefer a peaceful setting for their nights.
